Design + Dogs—Alyson Gurney’s two most favorite subjects fuse into one modern composition. Alyson’s moxie to blend these concepts became the culmination of Little Felted Friends.
Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) alum and equestrian athlete Alyson Gurney (B.F.A, graphic design, 2018) merged design and dogs to create her successful art business.
Gurney, a Washington, D.C., native, adopted a six-week-old puppy from a Baltimore rescue center in 2014. Found along the side of a road in a snowdrift, the aptly-named Drift sparked the inspiration for Gurney's business: Little Felted Friends, which combines her graphic design degree with artistry in needle felting. Gurney has created felt miniatures of cherished pets for clients like Kelly Clarkson, Paris Hilton, and Michael Strahan. Alyson and Drift and her business have been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, BuzzFeed, The Daily Mail, Insider, and more.
